Specifically for those undertaking or supporting direct interventions with children and young people who have displayed inappropriate or harmful sexual behaviour including YOT workers, social workers, police officers, health professionals, residential social workers, education staff and others in the safeguarding children/public protection network.
Prerequisites:
Participants are expected to have a good working knowledge of issues relating to work with children and young people who have displayed inappropriate or harmful sexual behaviour.
Objectives:
Understand how attachment theory and trauma relate to the development of children and young people who have displayed inappropriate or harmful sexual behaviour, including the neurobiological impact.
Consider the implications of attachment and trauma on intervention planning.
